Your lookback at Puppetize Digital 2020
That’s a wrap on Puppetize Digital 2020! Our first-ever virtual conference series attracted attendees from all over the world and brought the Puppet community together despite the pandemic’s attempt to keep us apart. With three events happening across three regions — Asia Pacific, Europe, and the Americas — all on the same day, there was something for every one of our users, customers, and partners.
Let’s take a spin through the event highlights.
The Puppet platform takes the (keynote) stage
Our CEO Yvonne Wassenaar introduced the new Puppet Enterprise Platform, an integrated platform purpose-built to help our customers address critical business needs with the ability to automate everything: simple tasks, complex systems on-prem and in the cloud, and workflows in cloud-native environments.
.@ytechdata discusses one of our most exciting announcements: the Puppet Enterprise platform. It’s an incredible capability that allows you to think about your environments differently and powerfully. #Puppetize2020 pic.twitter.com/nF7VggehYm— Puppet (@puppetize) November 19, 2020
The Puppet Enterprise Platform is the first to provide three styles of automation in a single platform: model-driven infrastructure as code with Puppet Enterprise, event-driven workflow with Relay by Puppet, and task-driven orchestration with Puppet Connect.
Self-service steals the spotlight
What’s Puppet Connect anyway? Announced at Puppetize, Puppet Connect gives teams a better way to connect their tools and codify their processes that can be shared across teams through self-service. Watch principal product manager Carl Caum dig into the details:
You can use Puppet Connect on its own, or you can access it through the Puppet Enterprise Platform, which integrates Puppet Enterprise, Relay by Puppet, and Puppet Connect, giving you powerful partner integrations that enable interoperability with other technologies and services across your entire environment.
Compliance as code with Puppet Comply
Other hot topics at Puppetize included compliance, with CTO Abby Kearns explaining, “Treating compliance as code is key for enterprises that need to drive the move to the cloud, and ensure security and compliance, along the way.”
Alex Hin, principal product manager, and Helen Campbell, a software engineer, demonstrated how forthcoming product Puppet Comply can assist in getting customers up to code (no pun intended) by automating continuous compliance.
Cloud adoption and Relay by Puppet
CTO Deepak Giridharagopal beamed into the Fairmont to talk cloud adoption with Abby and gave a demo of Relay by Puppet, our full-scale automation tool designed for cloud-native environments.
For an even deeper dive into Relay by Puppet, check out director of product Kenaz Kwa’s talk on the future of hybrid automation.
