Puppet Events in 2020: transitioning back to Puppet Camps
We're excited to announce that in 2020, we're focusing on smaller, more regional events so we can meet people where they are and have more opportunities to gather and share knowledge. That means that we will not be having a big annual user event next year and instead will be focused on delivering Puppet Camps worldwide.
We're changing things up
We've heard a lot of feedback from our global community of users, customers and partners that while they'd love to attend our annual user conference, it's getting harder for them to justify the time and cost to do so. Many of you have also asked us to bring back Puppet Camps so the community can gather on a more frequent basis. Puppet Camps—our one-day, user-focused local events that were so popular from 2012-2016—were a highlight of our events lineup. They were energetic, personal, and featured local speakers from the community passing on their best practices.
Now a new generation of Puppet users can experience them too. Puppet Camps bring local users together, to form connections that last long after the event in the local community. They often feature speakers who couldn't have traveled to a destination conference, who showcase the expertise of the city's own leaders. They're more accessible to folks who benefit from a full day of learning and mingling, but are overwhelmed by three days plus travel. And they enable a year-long stream of new knowledge, in talk recordings and blog posts, that is available to everyone.
We're coming to see you where you're at, to work directly with you and your teams, and incorporate wisdom from your peers. We're redirecting all the resources we've been focusing on a giant annual event and spreading it where it belongs worldwide, in Puppet Camps. Our user conferences have been great ways for us to spend quality time together. We want to make sure that we continue to provide those connections—for everyone in our community.
Where will the first set of Puppet Camps be?
Our first three Camps will be in Boston, Melbourne, and Berlin in early 2020 and we'd love to see you there! We'll be accepting speaking proposals soon, so look for communications on that, or feel free to reach out. Local venues, sponsors, and speakers are always appreciated so reach out if you've got the inside scoop on something great. We'll have more information soon, but in the meantime, start scheming! We've got some great events ahead of us!
We want to hear from yall
