Puppet Enterprise now available in AWS Marketplace
I'm excited to announce the availability of Puppet Enterprise as a new AWS Marketplace offering. You've always been able to run Puppet in AWS (and Azure and GCE), as well as manage the software you run in your AWS environments with Puppet. But now we make it easier to get started faster with an AWS Marketplace offering of Puppet Enterprise.
Using Puppet to provision and manage AWS resources
Puppet Enterprise is great at helping you manage everything in your data center — from containers running in AWS to resources running on mainframes, and everything in between. In short, you can use Puppet to automate the provisioning and ongoing operation of all cloud environments — and the infrastructure, middleware, and applications running in them — in a consistent, standard way. Once you define your workloads with Puppet, you can also easily move workloads to AWS, Azure, or back to your private cloud.
Puppet AWS module
Puppet provides a supported module for AWS to automate the provisioning and management of EC2 and ECS instances. Plus, the module lets you manage settings for resources like elastic load balancing, auto scaling, security groups, virtual private cloud (VPC), and more. You can learn more about using Puppet to manage AWS here, and get the supported AWS module here.
Puppet Enterprise in the AWS Marketplace
Today we announced a new AWS Marketplace image of Puppet Enterprise. This means you can find, launch, and run Puppet Enterprise directly from the AWS Marketplace. And just because you run Puppet in the cloud, that doesn't mean you can manage only cloud resources with Puppet. You can still provision and operate infrastructure, middleware, and applications both within your on-premises data center and within the AWS environment. Now you can take advantage of your AWS relationship to launch Puppet Enterprise and get started very quickly, and still enjoy all the advantages Puppet's declarative approach gives you in managing infrastructure across a hybrid environment.
For a long time now, customers have relied on Puppet to help them deliver and manage their workloads in AWS. They have also run Puppet Enterprise in AWS. With the new Marketplace offering, it’s just way easier and faster.
You’ll find the Puppet Enterprise AMI on AWS Marketplace today, and can deploy Puppet Enterprise directly from there. I’m excited to hear what you think.
