Puppet Enterprise adds Arm support and security updates
Today Puppet is pleased to announce the availability of two point releases for Puppet Enterprise that provide additional operating system support and security updates. The parallel releases are PE 2016.4.10, for our long term support series, and PE 2017.3.4, for our standard release.
We're very excited to add support for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 agents running on Arm's AArch64 CPU architecture. We've developed this capability in partnership with Arm to better serve Puppet Enterprise customers who are deploying Arm-based servers in their data centers.
In addition to the Arm support, we now offer agent compatibility with macOS High Sierra, and have included minor security updates for our upstream open-source components OpenSSL and curl, as well as an important security fix for Puppet Tasks.
Along with a batch of general bug fixes and usability improvements, we’ve specifically focused on a number of issues around upgrading or installing Puppet Enterprise, so if you’ve been holding off on an upgrade, you’ve officially run out of excuses.
These releases are available today from Puppet's download site.
