Puppet Camp 2011: Amsterdam
We're pleased to announce that Puppet Camp EU will be hosted at the Beurs van Berlage in Amsterdam on April 28th and 29th. The Early Bird Registration is available until March 5th. Sponsorship packages include tickets and offer the benefits of sponsorship for as little as an additional $150. This year, in addition to a track of speakers, we'll offer hosted breakout sessions, unconference sessions, a hosted code sprint room, and a bug squash room. We're accepting submissions for eight 40 minute presentations, and we're looking for a handful of volunteers to give 20 minute presentations and facilitate conversations in the breakout sessions. If you'd like to present please e-mail us an abstract. We're also looking for a few volunteers to host the bug squash room and the code sprint room. Free or reduced ticket prices are available to presenters and volunteers. Our event registration page offers more information about presenting and volunteering at the event but, as always, don't hesitate to e-mail us with your questions. On a more somber note, while we sincerely appreciated, and were pleasantly surprised by the 250 responses to our Location for Puppet Camp poll, we are unable to host Puppet Camp EU in London at this time. While surveying potential locations in London we were faced with a decision: either drastically increase ticket prices, or move the event. Puppet Camp began as, and will remain, a community-oriented gathering. We want to keep the barrier to entry as low as possible; it was with that in mind that we decided to relocate the event to Amsterdam. We fully intend on facilitating the creation of user groups in London, will continue to offer training courses and services to the area, and hope to be able to host an event there in the near future. Look for a new blog post and more information about Puppet Camp EU next week. We're looking forward to seeing you in Amsterdam!
