Marketing Automation Lead - Marketo

Hi, I’m CJ Destramp, Manager of Sales Operations at Puppet. I’m looking for a Marketo Lead to join our RevOps team to own and champion our marketing automation system.

As our primary Marketo Administrator, you will be responsible for system design, data integration, process definition, troubleshooting, campaign automation, data integrity and platform enablement. You will partner with Marketing, Sales, and other team members in RevOps to ensure seamless execution of Marketo programs and to deliver solutions that are highly usable, scalable, extensible, and maintainable on our Marketo and Salesforce platforms. 

Successful candidates will have a strong technical background in Marketo, a deep understanding of the Marketo data model, and B2B Marketing Operations experience. In addition to this skillset, we are looking for a self-starter with strong organizational skills, who thrives in a fast-paced and autonomous environment.

Meaningful work you’ll contribute

  • Own Marketo environment and Marketo integration with Salesforce, optimizing system configuration, maintaining critical admin functions such as user and field management, and ensuring successful configuration of all Marketo programs, database, and smart campaigns
  • Partner with Sales Operations and Salesforce Admins to ensure marketing and sales data are syncing between systems, including field mapping maintenance, campaign configuration, and reporting enablement. 
  • Oversee the marketing tech stack, including advising on new technologies, establishing API integrations, planning and executing data flows, and evaluating new and existing tools 
  • Triage and remediate bugs while working with stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical specifications
  • Ensure users know and execute on best practices and governance on campaigns, data management, & reporting
  • Partner with Sales Operations and Salesforce Admins to ensure marketing and sales data are syncing between systems, including field mapping maintenance, campaign configuration, and reporting enablement
  • Maintain processes to ensure data accuracy and hygiene, such as verification and enrichment to support ongoing campaign and reporting initiatives, deduplication, and standardization
  • Maintain system components to support lead management processes within Marketo and Salesforce, including customer segmentation, funnel telemetry, lead assignment, scoring, and nurturing
  • Work with Marketing to optimize email deliverability, including managing DNS settings and maintaining processes to ensure appropriate handling of unsubscribes, invalid emails, suppression, etc.
  • Collaborate with legal and maintain processes ensuring data privacy and protection measures in line with regulatory compliance standards such as GDPR and CCPA
  • Partner with demand generation, field marketing, and web teams to ensure quality digital experience with content and alignment with evolving strategy, including landing page optimization, form processing, and A/B testing

Valuable experiences and skills you’ll bring to Puppet 

  • 3+ years of Marketo administrator experience, current Marketo Certified Expert certification preferred
  • Experience working with Salesforce, including in depth knowledge of key objects (Campaign, Account, and lead), the native Marketo sync, and Salesforce reporting
  • Experience integrating Marketo with other commonly used B2B marketing tools (Salesforce, Webinar and Events platforms) and internal systems/data sources
  • Experience implementing data retention, data protection, and data privacy laws (including CAN-SPAM, GDPR, CCPA, etc.) in Marketo
  • Strong understanding of demand generation activities and ability to contribute ideas, best practices, and recommendations
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks simultaneously cross-functionally

Bonus, but not required (shout about it in your application if you have experience):

  • Experience with any of the following applications:  ZoomInfo, Salesloft, Drift, On24
  • Experience with DemandBase or similar Account Based Marketing (ABM) platforms and intent data
  • Experience with marketing attribution and performance management software such as Full Circle or Bizible
  • Experience working in B2B SaaS environments
  • Certified Salesforce Administrator or Developer
