Hi, I’m Rebecca Kan, Sr. Director of Demand Generation and Digital Marketing at Puppet,

I’m looking for a Senior Digital Marketing Manager to join our team and grow demand for our Relay offering. Relay is a digital offering designed to provide easy workflow automation that can solve many different use cases. This is a critical part of Puppet’s exciting growth strategy and we are looking for a creative and autonomous marketer to define the approach and a repeatable process that lays the foundation for Relay and Puppet’s overall future in this space. You will get to work with a seriously talented group of people across Marketing, Product, Sales and more at Puppet, while having fun paving the path to growth.

Meaningful work you’ll contribute 

  • Plan and execute digital campaign for Relay. Through research and triangulation of inputs and your own assumptions, you will form a plan and budget to achieve the right set of outcomes through an integrated, digital campaign. You will work closely with our agency partner and other vendors to plan and execute media. 
  • Build awareness. Define the content and interactions needed to generate interest and build reputation with our target audience. This will include how we show up on our website and other digital properties and external communities. This is the really fun stuff!
  • Build engagement that converts. You’ll determine the appropriate strategies to harvest awareness and ultimately drive people to sign up for Relay and begin trying the product. 
  • Activate trial users to paid users. You’ll nurture trial users to a point of activation, supported by a user experience to drive growth of lifetime value. 
  • Test, optimize, repeat. You’ll monitor performance closely and at all levels, and you will look at ways to test and optimize to achieve the best results. You’ll be the data-driven voice of the strategy, performance, and recommendations for how we achieve a digital presence and desired outcomes.
  • Align to the big picture. You’ll learn how Relay is part of Puppet’s portfolio and future strategy/direction.

  • An entrepreneur, eager and proactive to identify challenges and opportunities and is clear and bold on what is needed to meet objectives.  You have a sense of urgency and creativity while demonstrating a culture of taking risks and resolving obstacles or failures responsibly.
  • Accountable, inspiring and clear about communicating strategy, progress, and results. You are not satisfied with vanity metrics - you want to know why things are the way they are and look for ways to improve.
  • Curious to put all of the puzzle pieces together in order to make the best informed decisions while being clear about what you do not know and what will be tested. You want to know how your role and impact contributes to the company’s objectives but you also want to understand the other places your work could be related.
  • A team player, one who collaborates often, remains open and listens to understand first.  You seek to understand the organization and build partnerships based on trust, inclusivity, and self awareness.

Valuable experiences and skills you’ll bring to Puppet 

  • 5+ years experience in digital marketing and advertising - you understand cause and effect of different media sources. You have experience with search engine optimization and can recommend the right content strategy to support the right outcomes.
  • SaaS/product-led lifecycle for differentiated marketing and revenue motions.
  • Experience managing social media and communities for a B2B technology company.
  • You understand website metrics and best practices. You understand and care greatly about the user experience.
  • Researcher of best practices - you like to stay informed and on the latest trends across the market, competition, and advertising strategies.
  • You are an organized thinker capable of balancing many things at the same time - a multitasker aficionado.  
  • You understand the role of nurture/email and have experience working with marketing automation and email systems.
  • Ability to present metrics, insights, and recommendations to various levels of management and departments.
  • Strong project and program management skills to align resources and reliably execute multiple programs and ongoing assignments in a fast-paced, fluid environment.

Bonus, but not required (shout about it in your application if you have experience):

  • Experience in Cloud services or SaaS.
