Hi, I’m Dave Wilt, Head of Product, Technical and Customer Marketing at Puppet.

I’m looking for a Senior Principal Product Marketing Manager or Product Marketing Director to join a high-performing, fast-moving, and fun-loving team that is helping redefine how enterprises use automation to DELIVER, SECURE and OPERATE self-serviceable, self-healing hybrid infrastructure.  

We are looking for someone to play a pivotal role in extending Puppet’s DevOps leadership into hybrid and cloud-native infrastructure automation as the owner for our DELIVER and OPERATE stories, use cases and go-to-market strategies. 

This is an individual contributor role with an opportunity for growth into management for the right candidate.

You will…

  • Deeply understand the initiatives, goals, environments and challenges of cloud SRE, internal platform engineering, hybrid operator and IT executive personas
  • Engineer compelling messaging and content pillars to enable buyers, marketers and sellers
  • Partner with Demand Generation, Account-Based Field Marketing and Sales leadership to co-design integrated campaigns with innovative content plans to orchestrate and accelerate buyer journeys, from awareness to decision to expansion
  • Partner with Sales Enablement to equip sales with the knowledge and assets they need to effectively position the differentiated value of our solutions
  • Connect dots between industry trends and customer practices to develop and evangelize thought leadership and shape Puppet’s marketing and sales motions
  • Build and deliver presentations to prospects, customers, and analysts 
  • Partner with Product Management to translate our roadmap and new capabilities into customer-centric value propositions for impactful launches

  • A simplifier that can distill a story, point or point of view to its written, verbal and visual essence without over-generalizing
  • A highly skilled and persuasive writer that easily travels between long and short forms, optimizing for impact in the minds of customers 
  • A visualizer that knows when and how to wireframe diagrams and frameworks that simplify, inform and influence
  • Well-versed in product marketing best practices, including research, ideal customer profiles, personas, buying committees, messaging, content strategies and sales enablement
  • A networker and team player who can both enlist and provide help across functions and levels to align GTM efforts around the economic and technical buyer personas
  • A problem solver that can identify gaps in our go-to-market and buyer journeys, then collaborate quickly with others on pragmatic ways to move the needle quickly
  • A truth-seeker that gathers facts to inform positions and convince others
  • Adaptive to a fast-paced, collaborative, scale-up environment, where every day brings new challenges and the need to intelligently adapt
  • A lifetime learner willing to acknowledge what they don’t know, try new things, and continuously improve
  • Respectful of others with diverse backgrounds, experiences and talents

Requirements:

  • 10+ years (Director) / 7+ years (Senior Principal) in Product Marketing roles for infrastructure operations solutions including 2+ years cloud infrastructure
  • Proven depth in marketing to both operations practitioner/manager and IT executive personas
