Federal Civilian Sales Representative

Hi, I’m Curtis Bowcutt, VP, Sales - Americas at Puppet,

I’m looking for a Field Sales Representative to join our Sales Team. In this role, you will be focused on Federal civilian agency accounts the West Region. You will represent Puppet and drive the revenue, so you must be both a closer and be an effective prospector. You are skilled at creating a significant pipeline of business within a short period of time while managing existing accounts and clients to ensure their success. 

Meaningful work you’ll contribute 

  • Actively manage current accounts and prospects to develop opportunities in medium / large local accounts.
  • Attainment of quota, quarterly, and annually.
  • Develop an active and vibrant pipeline, equal to 3x quota.
  • Maintain current, accurate, and active SFDC hygiene.
  • Provide timely and accurate forecasts and reports to sales leadership.
  • Successfully articulate the value proposition from a business and technical standpoint of the Puppet Enterprise platform to the customer. We are looking for an individual who can create a go-to-market plan and drive top-line growth working closely with solution engineering and support resources.
  • Develop account-based selling methodologies and closing plans that can be coordinated with both your local management as well as the executive team.
  • Prospect for and qualify leads and develop new customers in conjunction with our channel partner and SI community
  • Prepare weekly activity and forecast reports for management
  • Build and strengthen the business relationship with current accounts and new prospects by leveraging renewal revenue stream and larger strategic deals for long term business opportunities.
  • Some travel in order to develop account relationships and close large opportunities.

Valuable experiences and skills you’ll bring to Puppet

  • You have at least 3-4 years of experience selling enterprise software 
  • Selling software to accounts based in the Western United States with a strong technical acumen as well as the ability to have a presence with upper management in the accounts.
  • Building and executing a territory plan to drive customer intimacy and revenue growth. (Target Account Selling or other sales methodology to ensure you can develop a long term selling strategy within these accounts as well as create short term tactical opportunities.)
  • Driving demand for newer products as well as professional services.
  • Calling on both infrastructure and application development teams.
  • You have experience leveraging SIs, VARs, and Alliance partners to deliver solutions with a proven track record of success with these partners.
  • In the job you will work closely will alliance partners such as Microsoft, Splunk, AWS, and VMware to sell complementary solutions.
