Hi, I’m Curtis BowcuttSr. Vice President of Sales at Puppet,

I’m looking for a Senior Director of Sales to lead our Northeastern sales team to sell enterprise software solutions and drive expansion through the management of new and existing accounts within the Region.  In this role, you will effectively collaborate with other executives, corporate sales, presales, professional services, marketing, channel management, finance and customer support, as well as external alliance and channel partners. You will also work with sales management to manage and coach the team to surpass their sales goals and maintain a high achievement culture.

Responsibilities

In this critical role, your responsibilities include:  

  • Developing and executing on a Northeastern Region sales strategy that has been presented and approved by Puppet’s Sales Management and other Executive stakeholders
  • Leading the team towards market opportunities for growth and customer satisfaction
  • Achieving quarterly and annual sales objectives in the region
  • Rolling up and managing a quarterly revenue forecast
  • Hiring and efficiently onboarding new field sales reps while managing existing team
  • Managing to and adjusting as appropriate sales activity, process, and methodology expectations for maximum efficiency
  • Providing ongoing sales coaching, product training, and input into the development of sales enablement tools
  • Collaborating with Marketing, Sales, and Product Management to identify and act on opportunities of improvement
  • Documenting employee performance and conduct quarterly and annual reviews
  • Developing and maintaining Puppet’s culture, including inspiration, energy, and a sense of mission
  • Coordinating regional team building activities and functions
  • Ensuring the successful rollout and adoption of Puppet’s products by encouraging strong account management activities and coordination with pre-and-post sales engineering and support resources
  • Traveling as necessary to accounts and partners in order to develop relationships and close large opportunities
  • Expanding knowledge of industry as well as the competitive posture of the company
  • Preparing activity and forecast reports as requested
  • Assisting sales management in conveying customer needs to product managers, and technical support staff

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive sales management experience
  • Solid sales and management experience in B2B software organizations focusing on data center management, and currently with a leading-edge organization known for excellence in that function
  • Experience in a highly complex environment (multiple channels to market, etc.) requiring comprehensive knowledge and proven, successful skill set in managing and developing a sales function within a technical and constantly changing environment
  • Well-developed understanding of the information technology and computer networking industry and an expert understanding of selling to large Global 5000 clients is required
  • Management experience leading an organization focused on performance and results in a fast-growing environment.
  • Possess both strategic and tactical dimension and capabilities, and the ability to analyze the market, competitors and company strengths and weaknesses while devising winning sales strategies
  • Successful track record of managing, leading, and developing people; able to enhance the competency and skill base of the regional sales team
  • Requires logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems
  • Requires contact with others and the ability to work and interact in a group or team

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or marketing
