Instructional Media Design Intern - Remote

at Puppet, Inc. Portland, OR

Hi, I’m Helen Ivory, Senior Director of Global Knowledge Management at Puppet.

I’m looking for an Instructional Media Design Intern to join our team to help expand, evolve, and modernize how intellectual capital is presented to its customers, partners, and internal teams.

At Puppet, the Global Knowledge Management team is a geographically dispersed team of learning professionals. We are dedicated to providing the right information to the right person in the right way at the right time. We develop, deliver, and maintain technical education programs and sales enablement programs. These programs are composed of instructor-led courseware, videos, podcasts, eLearning modules, webinars, and other print and multimedia assets. We are recruiting for an intern with substantial interest in creating engaging, video-based media content.

As an Instructional Media Design Intern at Puppet, you will:

  • Learn the media production workflow and processes of a collaborative instructional design team, including appropriate file naming, sharing and storage standards.
  • Storyboard, create imagery out of ideas, and present information in engaging and interesting ways.
  • Create asynchronous media content, including but not limited to  videos and motion graphics.

Who you will be collaborating with…

  • Instructional designers and writers and on the Knowledge Management team to create engaging sales enablement content.

 Who are you?

  • You are an excellent visual narrator. You storyboard, create imagery out of ideas, and present facts in engaging and interesting ways.
  • You are a strong communicator and team player who is motivated to learn, work collaboratively with a geographically distributed team, give and receive constructive feedback, and “show up” daily. You are committed to working in and fostering an inclusive, diverse, and respectful culture.

What valuable experience and skills will you bring to the table?

  • Strong communication skills, including responding to emails and other messages in a timely manner.
  • A willingness to give and receive constructive feedback, and a drive to continually grow and develop your skill set.
  • A can-do attitude and a willingness to work both independently as well as collaboratively.
  • A growth mindset, the ability to embrace challenges and to use them as learning opportunities.

Bonus, but not required (shout about it in your application if you have experience)

  • Basic proficiency using the Adobe Creative Suite, GSuite, Asana, and Slack.

We are hiring at various experience levels and we’re particularly interested in having a diverse team with a broad set of skills and viewpoints. If this seems like your dream job, but you’re not sure if you qualify, apply anyway!
