A big part of what makes Puppet so great is the community of contributors. If you are already contributing to Puppet, a thousand thanks to you! If you aren't contributing yet, welcome! Check out the different types of contributor events awaiting your participation. We think you'll enjoy these events as much as the rest of the community does.
Weekly modules triage
Each week, the modules team runs through the pull request backlog for Puppet Forge modules, with the intent to merge or comment on each of them. Please join us if you have an interest in helping shape Puppet Forge modules, or have a pull request you'd like the team to consider. The triage takes place via Google Hangout every Thursday around 10 AM Pacific, and the link is posted in #puppet-dev on IRC (Freenode).
Puppet Contributor Summits
Puppet Contributor Summits are events for both new and experienced contributors to Puppet, including:
- People who submit pull requests and contribute code to Puppet projects.
- Community members working on Puppet-related projects.
- Contributors to Puppet modules.
- Key community members who answer a lot of questions about using Puppet.
- Long-time Puppet users who are interested in doing more.
We hold Puppet Contributor Summits twice a year; one in the United States during the week of PuppetConf, and another in Europe during the week of FOSDEM and ConfigManagementCamp Ghent.

#puppethack is a collaborative, relaxed online hack day for the Puppet community. If you're interested in contributing to Puppet, or are already a Puppet user, developer, module author, docs writer, and/or you contribute in any other way to the Puppet community, then #puppethack is for you! We also welcome folks who are interested in learning how they can start contributing!
#puppethack gives Puppet community members an opportunity to finally tackle that interesting or fun problem that you just never seem to get to — and get help! The community gathers in the #puppethack channel in the Puppet Community Slack to get to know each other and collaborate on pull requests for modules and other Puppet code.
We do two #puppethacks a year - typically one in the spring and another in the winter.
The next #puppethack is after Config Management Camp in Gent, Belgium, 7 February 2018, 10am-4:30pm (CET).
