A big part of what makes Puppet so great is the community of contributors. If you are already contributing to Puppet, a thousand thanks to you! If you aren't contributing yet - welcome! We hope you will join us at our next event.
Contributor Summit Online
We're excited to announce a new way to engage with Puppet contributors that combines elements of previous Contributor Summits and #puppethacks into a new virtual event: Contributor Summit Online.
We’re going to kickoff our contribution activities at Puppetize Live itself (9-10 October), where we’ll initiate projects that will then continue for the whole month leading up to Contributor Summit Online on 14 November.
We'll have a few starter projects ready to go that use Puppet 6 features along with some exciting new stuff that will get revealed at Puppetize Live for you to run with, or you can invent your own. You can work by yourself or organize into teams that we'll help facilitate. But the best part of this is that we're dedicating resources to your project for this month that you might not have ever had access to before. Learn more about the event resources here and/or join us in the #contributor-summit channel in the Puppet Community Slack.
Contributor Summit Online is an online-only event, as we're looking at new ways to collaborate asynchronously on Puppet-related projects and welcome as many people worldwide as we can.
- Kickoff at Puppetize Live: 9 and 10 October
- Contributor Month: 11 October through 13 November
- Contributor Summit Online: 14 November
Feel free to ask questions or collaborate with us in the #contributor-summit channel in the Puppet Community Slack.

- People who submit pull requests and contribute code to Puppet projects
- Community members working on Puppet-related projects
- Contributors to Puppet modules
- Key community members who answer a lot of questions about using Puppet
- Long-time Puppet users who are interested in doing more

In the past, the Puppet Community Team hosted two #puppethack events a year - collaborative, relaxed online hack days for the Puppet community. #puppethack was meant for folks interested in contributing to Puppet, or were already a Puppet user, developer, module author, docs writer, contributed in any other way to the Puppet community, and/or were interested in learning how to start contributing.
With the birth of Contributor Summit Online, we are taking elements of #puppethack and combining it with elements of previous Contributor Summit events to bring you a whole new way of learning, contributing, and engaging with the Puppet community.
